King Ropes – “Dogleg Boy”

By Will Oliver, July 12th 2017 Indie Listen Stream

King Ropes is the project of guitarist Dave Hollier, who writers expressive songs that tackle the highs and lows of human experience. Layered with sonic textures and emotional layers that are pushed forward with hooks.

Earlier this year Hollier released his debut album under the King Ropes name and it’s a solid and thoughtful debut full of hidden treasures such as the LP’s opening track, “Dogleg Boy.”

There’s a dreaminess to his vocal delivery on the track, mixed well with the more aggressive and heavy guitar riffs. It reminds a lot of Bradford Cox and his work with both Deerhunter and Atlas Sound, which is most certainly a good thing.

Find “Dogleg Boy” posted below, and preview the whole album over at his bandcamp page.
