This year saw Tyler, The Creator return with his fourth album Flower Boy (released via Columbia Records
) and it’s a surprisingly mature turn from Tyler who offers a thoughtful and personal approach that is a step in the right direction for sure.

On November 13 he returned to New York for a very sold out performance at Terminal 5 in support of the album. This was a packed Terminal 5, with fans in the front barely able to move as it fans were shoving up trying to get closer right before Tyler took the stage. After his opening performance of new album cut “Where This Flower Blooms,” fans in the front handed Tyler a wide assortment of gifts from jackets to even brand new iPhone X’s. It probably should’ve been the reverse, shouldn’t it?

He ran through most of Flower Boy, often returning toa mini enclosed platform he had placed on the center of the stage, and would often be joined by Jasper Dolphin throughout the performance. He brought out surprise guest A$AP ROCKY to perform their Flower Boy collaboration and highlight “Who Dat Boy,” as well as A$AP’s “Telephone Calls” both of which had the venue going into panic mode, with the whole middle of Terminal 5 broken off into seperate mosh pits as fans collectively lost their shit.
