Built To Spill (who we last saw three years ago at Bowery Ballroom) teamed up with Afghan Whigs for a performance at Brooklyn Steel on April 18, even though neither have a new album to tour in support of. But them being in town for the show allowed them to give us an even more intimate performance the very next night on April 19 at Baby’s All Right.

As you can imagine it was very much sold out and a rare chance to see Built to Spill in such a tiny setting. They delivered a set full of from across their entire catalog, including such favorites as “The Plan,” “Big Dipper,” “Distopian Dream Girl,” as well as some rather exceptional covers of The Pretenders’ “Back on the Chain Gang,” and Queen’s “Sheer Heart Attack,” the latter which was a welcome start to the 2-song encore.

Find a full set of photos of their set, as well as openers Rituals Of Mine, posted in the gallery below, along with Built to Spill’s setlist.
