Hailing from Stockholm City, Sweden, Blue Painted Flag is a band that formed together during the early parts of 2017. The band was born in the stands while the local Stockholm football team the Blue Stripes played a home game and in-between trips to see them play away. There’s a ton of support given by the group and they translated this passion to the formation of a band that churns out some rather delightful indie rock.
“Basically Everything Is Just A Play” is their debut single and while it may not reinvent the sound it’s going for, it offers a laid back and chilled guitar sound that feels like an easy summer day it’s just what I need right now. It was “recorded in a shady studio located within an even shadier part of Stockholm,” and sounds every bit the part. These guys are most certainly a hidden gem and ones to keep an eye on.
