Rubblebucket will return on August 24 with new album Sun Machine, which will be released via Grand Jury Music. The album captures some heavy themes within the band’s makeup, documenting the pain of the former romance between founding members Kalmia Traver and Alex Toth and their eventual reconciliation as they kept on writing and recording together.

The album announcement came accompanied by the vibrant lead single “Fruity,” a colorful track from the band that certainly has their trademark uplifting sound and spirit, even with some more serious underlying themes at play. It carries over a lot of the bands previous DNA sound but is a mature step forward for them in many ways.
