Conveyor wowed me last year at CMJ, and their performance in Austin was not much different, except that the band somehow got better. They sounded a lot tighter and brought out some new jams that impressed me. One in particular had a Dirty Projectors vibe that was incredible.

There’s a smoothness to their sound, even with all the unusual rhythems. They were a perfect fit to play directly under the glorious Austin sun, and I’m already looking forward to seeing the band when they return to New York City next.

[CMJ]: Conveyor @ Rockwood Music Hall (October 20, 2012)

Conveyor started off the last day of CMJ at We Listen For You’s day party with a really nice easy going set. The best way to describe the band’s sound is clean and bright. All their instruments sound clean and pristine, and their vocal’s come together oh so well. It was the tail end of a pretty busy week, and Conveyor eased us into the last day perfectly.

After all these years, I finally got my chance to catch Washed Out live. Every time Ernest Greene and his band came to New York I was either away at college or had another show conflict or plans. Things finally worked out last night where he played a free show at Music Hall of Williamsburg as a part of Converse Rubber Tracks. Brooklyn-based acts Conveyor and Ghost Beach opened. Conveyor – Pushups

By Will Oliver, October 29th 2013

Conveyor - Pushups

I meant to post this sooner, but between NYFF (for Monday Morning Matinee) and CMJ, I never got the chance.

Conveyor are releasing a limited 7″ on Gold Robot Records. It features two songs, “Mammal Food” and “Pushups.” It’s a 7″ gold vinyl, with only 250 copies made.

They’ve made the b-side “Pushups” available for free mp3 download, and it’s a big departure for the bands clean refined sound. “Pushups” is a rough and raw track with Conveyor’s signature harmonies buried deep within the fuzz. But don’t take it the wrong way, it’s an interesting turn they make, but it works to delicious results.

Download “Pushups” below.

The 7″ single is available for pre-order now.

This year will be my first at SXSW. I’m excited to see what will happen, but I’m even more excited to be a part of a great party/showcase. My buddy Zach over at the incredible We Listen For You is teaming up with sonaBLAST! to give us one hell of a free unofficial party.

The show will feature an acoustic set from Rod Argent & Colin Blunstone of The Zombies, Et Tu Brucé, Dent May, Nerves Junior, Shugo Tokumaru, The Pass, Royal Bangs, Conveyor, and Miracles Of Modern Science. Hip Hatchet & Christopher Denny will be around all day delivering acoustic sets.

Zach asked us to sponsor the show, and how could I say no with a lineup like that. Some other great blogs are also on board: The 405, Pretty Much Amazing, The Music Ninja, and The Decibel Tolls.

RSVP here. You don’t want to miss this show, it’s gonna be a good one.
