Bully at House Of Vans (March 16, 2018)

By Will Oliver, April 8th 2018

All photos by Qbertplaya

On March 16 House Of Vans held a workshop dedicated to woman and girls and teaching them how to build a skate deck as well as private skate lessons with Vans global skate team athlete Lizzie Armanto. Following the workshop, the rest of the evening was dedicated to an open skate jam and then a live performance from Nashville rockers Bully, who we caught last November at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Our photographer Qbertplaya was there to capture photos from the skate lessons and skate jam as well as Bully’s live set. Find all the photos posted in the gallery below.

Last Wednesday night Nashville, Tennessee four-piece Bully played a sold out a show at Baby’s All Right. The young band already knows how to draw an audience, as this was a truly sold out show that was packed out all the way to the entrance door at the back of the venue. The group has been riding high off the buzz of their terrific single “I Remember,” which is also the opening track on their debut album Feels Like, out June 23 on Columbia Records imprint, Startime International.

[mp3]: Lissie – Bully

By Will Oliver, July 26th 2010 — with 2 comments

I posted a stream of Lissie’s “Bully” last week, but now there is a mp3 that I can legally share with you guys for free download. This song sounds even better than it did the last time I heard it. This girl is damn special. I’m in love!

[mp3]: Lissie – Bully

“Bully” is off her debut album Catching A Tiger which will be released on 8/17 via Fat Possum. Her new single “Cuckoo” is coming out on 8/30 (in the UK I believe) and will feature her incredible cover of Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance”. Can’t wait for that.

[stream new] Lissie – Bully

I’ve been following Lissie for a few months now after discovering her fantastic live covers of Lady GaGa’s Bad Romance & Kid Cudi’s Pursuit Of Happiness. Her debut album, Catching A Tiger, is being released on August 17th via Fat Possum. Entertainment Weekly’s Music Mix Blog got an exclusive stream of a new song from that album. It’s called “Bully”, and it’s well…pretty.

It was produced by Band Of Horses bassist Bill Reynolds, which could explain the alt-country vibe that surrounds “Bully”. Lissie really is one hell of a talented artist, and there is no reason not to be acquainted with her by now.

Best Albums of 2017: Bryan’s Picks

By Bryan Lasky, January 8th 2018

[Artwork by Anthony Bauer]

First, this isn’t going to be your run of the mill, “Here are your best albums of the year in a specific order,” type of list. I’ve never done one of these before and who the hell am I, mostly a photographer, sometimes reviewer, to say who has the “best” record of the year. If a song moves me or makes me feel something, I enjoy it. Yes, in my eyes St. Vincent’s Masseduction is definitely in my top three, but even for me, I don’t know if it’s number one. Regardless, I hope you enjoy these little blurbs about some of my favorite music that has come out in the calendar year of 2017 that I can’t stop playing. Also, there were, of course, other great albums released this past year that while I listened to, I just didn’t come back to. It may not appear on this list, but doesn’t mean I didn’t find something fantastic about it and didn’t enjoy it throughout the year.

Favorite Concert Photos of 2017

By Will Oliver, January 3rd 2018

Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Kings Theatre (November 7)

If nothing else, we covered more shows in 2017 than ever before. In addition to my usual show-going madness, we had a great number of contributions from our amazing team of photographer friends here on the site both old and new. From the major festivals to the arena show, to the tiniest DIY club, we tried to be everywhere and anywhere that good music flowed.

Below are just a handful of some of the shots that our cameras snapped in 2017, listed in chronological order, along with the link to the show coverage and the appropriate credit. Thanks to everyone on the small but growing We All Want Someone team for their contributions and for you the readers for giving us the motivation to keep fighting the good fight.

Without further ado, here are some of our favorite live shots from 2017 (we will have a list ranking our top shows coming later today as well)

Sleigh Bells at Le Poisson Rouge (September 8)

In 2016 we opened our doors and expanded our small team to include more contributing photographers than ever before. As a result, we have a lot of content that we are proud of, and wanted to take a look back at some of our favorite live music photographs taken throughout 2016. Thanks to our entire team for all of their incredible efforts. There’s so much great music happening year round, it’s truly amazing how much of it we were able to be a part of in some way, no matter how small.

So with that, here’s an absolute giant gallery of our favorite photos of 2016 taken in chronologic order:
