Flying Lotus has released a music video for “Tiny Tortures” that stars Elijah Wood as a man who lost his arm and is stuck in a crazy dream state while trying to cope. It’s beautiful and stunning all at once, and Wood delivered a perfect little performance.
Fly Lo also admitted that he is in fact Captain Murphy, the mysterious rapper who debuted on the Flying Lotus/Earl Sweatshirt song “Between Friends” that was released earlier in the summer. He has allowed fans to download the deluxe edition of his mixtape, Duality. Grab that here, and check out the “Tiny Tortures” video below.
Not only is Flying Lotus’ glitched up “Putty Boy Strut” pretty damn awesome, but it features a visually stunning music video as well. It sounds like a video game ecstasy and quite frankly looks the same as well. If the rest of Until The Quiet Comes is this cool, we are in for a real treat this fall.
After seeing FlyLo at Pitchfork this past weekend, I’m excited to hear that his new album Until The Quiet Comes, will come out on October 2 (via Warp). It will include a Thom Yorke collaboration, which we can all agree is a great thing.
Just as he did at Bonnaroo, FlyLo built the crowd up and shock the ground on the way down, all practically to his amusement. The man just knows how to create a momentum-based frenzy, dazzling with many different genres of music, ultimately creating his own. His shows are a guaranteed good time, no matter where or when you see him.
At 2:00 a.m. after nearly 13 hours of being at the Festival, it took a lot of strength to go see Flying Lotus. It was worth it though as Flying Lotus brings a lot of energy live. He would mix beats with all kinds of popular tracks, summoning the crowd to a rave like craze. I definitely want to see him again when I’m not dead tired, as I really think it would be a great experience.
