[new]: Jay-Z – DP3

By Will Oliver, July 9th 2013 — with 1 comment

Jay-Z took to twitter to do a Q+A with fans, a rare thing as Jay-Z hardly used his twitter up to this point. One fan took to twitter to ask if there was a finished version of a old sequel track that he never released: “Dead Presidents 3.” This got Jay-Z’s attention, and he gave producer Young Guru his permission to share it. Sure enough, the song is now available to listen. Got to love the power of twitter.

Listen to “DP3” below.

Jay-Z Holy Grail

Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail was released at midnight tonight via Samsung’s app. The demand was so wild that the app of course crashed. But not all is lost, a stream has surfaced of the opening track “Holy Grail” which features Justin Timberlake. Honestly, JT is easily the best thing about this track. Wouldn’t have been a bad addition on 20/20.

By Will Oliver, June 20th 2013 — with 1 comment

Jay-Z has announced that he has a new album titled Magna Carta Holy Grail coming out July 4. He made the announcement during Game 5 of the NBA finals.

The album’s release will be in a unique way that’s the first of its kind. He inked a deal with Samsung that will give owners of Samsung Galaxy phones a free copy of the album on July 4. It will be made available for everyone else on July 7.

Posted below is the commercial which features Jay-Z in the studio recording the album with Rick Rubin, Pharrell, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. Let’s just say we have high hopes that it’s better than his last solo album, the forgettable The Blueprint 3.

On his newly released song “Open Letter”, Jay-Z hits back at the government for investigating the trip to Cuba that he took with Beyonce (which was in fact legal). He also hits on his recent decision to sell his share in the Brooklyn Nets so he can properly run his Roc Nation Sports agency.

Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake Are Playing Yankee Stadium

By Will Oliver, February 22nd 2013

Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake have announced the Legends Of The Summer tour that will take them aroud legendary stadiums such as Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. The tour will kick off in mid July and end in August . Tickets go on sale February 28 for all the shows except at Yankee Stadium. Those details will come soon.

I enjoyed “Suit & Tie” more and more with every listen, but “Mirrors”, the latest cut shared from The 20/20 Experience is incredible. If the rest of the album is of this quality, it’s going to be a killer.

Listen to “Mirrors” and find the tour dates below.

Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie

Justin Timberlake already released a lyric video for “Suit & Tie”, but now he has released a full official one. It’s a classy one, dressed in black and white, featuring all kinds of footage. You see him performing, practicing, recording, and hanging with Jay-Z.

I liked the video a lot. David Fincher directed it, so that explains why it’s so good. Watch it below.

[new]: Justin Timberlake – Suit & Tie (Feat. Jay-Z)

Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie (Feat. Jay-Z)

Guilty pleasures? Justin Timberlake is one of mine. Well, I openly admit to it, as I am posting about his new song. Justin’s music is somewhat polarizing to the masses. I enjoyed FutureSex/LoveSounds a great deal, and I think a lot of you did as well, whether you like to admit it or not. Right before the weekend Justin posted a video hinting a return of new music. Now tonight, his first new song in six years is released.

It’s called “Suit & Tie” and features none-other than Jay-Z. It starts out as a slow burner, but soon blossoms out in full force with some jazzy sounds meshing with his flavor of r&b. Strong production, and a welcomed verse from Jay take it home. It may not jump out at first listen but a few more listens in and it’s begging to crunch a little harder and click here and there.

Timbaland produced the song, as well as the other 20 songs that may make the cut of his new album, The 20/20 Experience, which is due out later in the year. The song is available to buy on iTunes right now.

Late last night a new song from the G.O.O.D. Music’s label compilation, Cruel Summer, arrived. It’s a Kanye West track that features Jay-Z & Big Sean. Hit-Boy produced the track which of course, features another Kim K reference. Oh, Kanye.

Cruel Summer comes out September 18.
