Panda Bear at Brooklyn Steel (May 5, 2018)

By Will Oliver, June 12th 2018

Earlier this year Panda Bear released his new EP A Day With The Homies as a vinyl-only release via Domino Records. He previously played four of the five songs from the EP last year during Desert Daze but with the release of the EP he brought the new songs to more audiences as a part of his most recent tour.

This included a performance in New York on May 5 at Brooklyn Steel, which featured the usual trippy projections and lighting that one would expect from both Panda Bear/Animal Collective. Along with all five of the songs off the new EP, Panda Bear gave us five new songs that were perfectly mixed in along with older favorites such as “Last Night At The Jetty” and “Tropic Of Cancer.”

Find a full photo gallery from his performance posted below, along with the setlist.

Panda Bear at Bowery Ballroom (October 13, 2015)

By Will Oliver, February 27th 2016

Last January Panda Bear stopped into Queens for an unusual performance at the MoMA PS1 VW Dome, in support of his latest record, Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper (released via Domino Records).

Panda Bear returned to New York in October for a sold out three-night run at Bowery Ballroom, that just happened to go down during CMJ. It was a typically great performance from Panda Bear, leaving everyone in the audience tripped out by his ever killer combination of dazzling visuals, and hypnotic tunes.

Find some more shots from the performance posted below.

Panda Bear @ Warsaw (May 18, 2014)

By Will Oliver, May 19th 2014

Panda Bear doesn’t play live solo sets all that often, so when he does, you gotta stop what you’re doing and find a way over there. I should speak for myself, as up until last night, I had never seen a live solo set from Noah Lennox. His appearances would always catch me at the wrong time during my college years, and although I’ve seen Animal Collective’s a handful of times now, as well as a set from Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, it wasn’t until Panda Bear stopped by Brooklyn venue Warsaw (for a Red Bull Music Academy Show) last night that I could finally check him off my ever expanding list. [new]: Panda Bear – Cosplay

By Will Oliver, March 18th 2014

Panda Bear

“Cosplay” is a new Panda Bear song, one that will likely be on his next album. According to Gorilla vs. Bear, a live version of it appeared in a mix that Sonic Boom made for a French music festival that they’re playing.

No word if it’s on the album, but after one listen to it you’ll be hoping it is. Throughout the track Noah sings the phrase “marijuana makes my day” enough to trip you out over some African sounds that sound like if Paul Simon and Animal Collective met, took one too many drugs, and then hit record.

Panda Bear also has a sold out show at the Warsaw in Brooklyn on May 18. Hope to make it out, I’ve actually yet to see a solo set from Panda Bear.

Check out “Cosplay” below.

Panda Bear Fernanda Pereira

As Gorilla vs. Bear points out, there’s some new music from Panda Bear included in a new video that Joana Linda directed for clothing designer Fernanda Pereira’s Spring/Summer 2014 line: DESPERSONALIZAÇÃO / the stretch of life.

If this seems random, it isn’t. Pereira just happens to be Noah Lennox’s (Panda Bear) wife.

The music that Panda Bear has created for it varies on different styles and feels, but hopefully someday we get to hear all of them in full, fleshed out, versions.

Watch the video below.

Panda Bear took the already awesome Korallreven track “As Young As Yesterday” giving it rework through an even tripper lens. It leaves you feeling disconnected, leaving room for all the lost emotions to find a place to stay.

The remix is included on the 7″ release that Acéphale just released.

Stream it below:
