[new]: Röyksopp & Robyn – Do It Again

By Will Oliver, April 28th 2014

As previously reported, Röyksopp & Robyn have teamed up for a mini album that they’re calling Do It Again.

They’ve let go of the first single, which also happens to be the title track. It’s a big electronic offering, featuring plenty of glossiness for Robyn’s vocals to shine throughout. It features a good balance of pop and dance qualities that make it a stunning winner on many levels.

If the radio stations around here picked up on this track, it would be a victory for all involved. Check it out below via a lyric video that they released:

Röyksopp and Robyn Announce Collaborative Mini-Album: Do It Again

By Will Oliver, April 16th 2014 — with 1 comment

Last week Röyksopp and Robyn announced they were going on tour together. This makes sense as they’ve worked together much in the past. Now they’ve announced they will release a new mini-album (only 5 songs) called Do It Again on May 26 via Cherrytree/Interscope Records.

Here’s what Röyksopp had to say about the album:

This 5 track mini-album is the accumulation and embodiment of the synergy between Robyn and ourselves. We’ve intended this to be a diverse yet cohesive and thought through musical venture; it’s meant to be an expression where pop & art reign side by side.

This doesn’t sound like Röyksopp featuring Robyn or Robyn produced by Röyksopp, it’s just something else entirely

This announcement came with a snippet preview of one of album track “Monument.” It’s only about a minute and a half, but it’s enough to give you a taste. It’s sounding quite good.

Earlier in the week Norweigan electronic duo Röyksopp returned with a new single titled “Something In My Heart.” It features vocals from fellow Norweigan, Susanne Sundfør.

It’s an iced out song that is propelled forward with stunning vocals from Sundfør. The single officially is released on December 16, via the bands own label, Dog Triumph.

[new] Röyksopp: The Drug

By Will Oliver, August 15th 2010

The lovable Norwegian electronic dudes known as Röyksopp just dropped a new song called “The Drug” that you can now stream for free. It’s an instrumental that will be on their all instrumental album Senior, due out September 13th.

They made it available to stream on their website, but I got an embed posted below.

This is how the band described “The Drug”
This highly synthetic drug is the latest craze. Gentle and appealing at first. Repeated use will result in severe personality distortion. Hear that little sound in your head? That ever decaying little “melody”? ..That’s your mind going…

Intense, no?
