San Fermin - Wild Honey Pie : Shake Shack

Back in April I had the pleasure of attending an intimate performance from San Fermin at Headroom NYC, who were performing a Buzzsession put on by our buddies over at The Wild Honey Pie. The session was made that much more special as it featured a collaboration with Shake Shack, who made the intimate performance that much better with free burgers and their fine Shackmeister Ale. It’s not often you get to mix the equally great worlds of food and live music.

Today I have the honor and privilege of premiering one of the Buzzsession videos from that evening. It’s their performance of “Emily,” which sounds just as good as I remember it those many months ago. It’s interesting to see the final product after witnessing it all go down live in person.┬áIf you haven’t been to one of The Wild Honey Pie’s events or tapings yet, this video will make you want to rectify that immediately.

Enjoy the performance below, and be sure to check out one of the group when they return to New York City for a three night stand at Bowery Ballroom on December 17th, 18th & 19th. Tickets are on sale at the bands website.

MS MR

This Saturday night New York electronic group MS MR will return to New York with a headlining performance at Studio E that is the inaugural kickoff of Jukely’s new Sound Projects live concert series. While most of the Jukely shows were exclusive to their subscription members only, this is the first show where non-Jukely members can also buy a ticket. In addition to MS MR, the show will also feature performances from YACHT and San Fermin, making it a great night of music all around.

Tickets are still on sale, but they’re currently on pricing level 3, at $38. Once that sells out it goes up to $43. So move fast if you’re thinking of grabbing a ticket, or you can always get a subscription to Jukely.

2014 saw Wisconsin group Phox release their delightful (self-titled) debut album (which made our honorable mentions for albums of the year) and tour throughout the country opening for acts like The Head and The Heart, Paolo Nutini, as well as a headlining tour of their own. Things are just getting started for the band, who have embarked on yet another tour, with many major festival dates already lined up.

St. Vincent at Celebrate Brooklyn! (August 9, 2014)

By Will Oliver, August 10th 2014

05_St Vincent

Last night St. Vincent proved that she is one of the bright spots in the world of music, someone everyone should be admiring. She was a perfect choice to close out the 2014 Celebrate Brooklyn! series at the Prospect Park Bandshell, playing a free show that was probably packed slightly over capacity. It left countless (couple of thousand?) fans outside the bandshell, most of whom ended up picnicking and enjoying the show just outside the gates.
