Our friends over at The Wild Honey Pie and Consequence Of Sound have teamed up to put on a super rad event called Summer Camp. It sports a day of live performances from Caveman, Yellow Ostrich, Widowspeak, Pearl and the Beard, Belle Mare, and Vensaire. The event will take place at a lakefront property about an hour north of NYC, where they will have all kinds of cool events such as: free food, free beer, Burt’s Bees, Steve’s Ice Cream, KIND granola bars, Justin’s peanut/almond butter candy bars, arts & crafts, pool party, waterfront, volleyball, boating, and s’mores.

Sounds like an epic day to me. This will be a super intimate event, with space for only 100 “campers”. However you can RSVP to the event to be entered for a chance to attend (with a guest). The only thing is you need to be 21+.

What are you waiting for? Head over to The Wild Honey Pie and RSVP.

Summer Camp - Fresh

Summer Camp return with a funky infectious number called “Fresh.” It’s off their new self-titled album, that comes out September 9 via Moshi Moshi. “Fresh” grooves hard with a funk-disco sense that will have you grooving with ease. These guys never fail to impress.

Take a listen to “Fresh” below.

[new]: Summer Camp – Always

One listen to the new Summer Camp song “Always” and you’ll be thinking about new wave heroes such as New Order. It’s a good thing, and certainly a compliment. It may be one of the bands strongest efforts to date. They don’t hold back at all and it results in one hell of jam.

“Always” is the title track to their upcoming EP of the same name. It’s due out on July 10 via Apricot/Moshi Moshi.

[new]: Summer Camp – Life

By Will Oliver, May 16th 2012

Summer Camp are quickly back with a new EP titled, Always. The EP comes just a few months after the November release of their debut album, Welcome To Condale.

“Life” is the first track to be heard from the 5-song EP. It’s a piano-led dance effort with a great vocal performance from the always lovely Elizabeth Sankey. This is a more electronic side of Summer Camp, and they work it well.

The Always EP will be released on July 10 via Apricot Recording Company/Moshi Moshi Records.
