Twin Peaks and The Districts were the touring partners that we didn’t know we needed to see together but oh man, does it make sense. Both are two of the brightest young rock bands we have at the moment and both are known for putting on pummeling live performances.

While the tour didn’t come into New York City, there was still an area stop at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City on February 23. This sold out show was packed with the young and feisty audience that you’d come to expect and had the whole place going wild.

Our photographer Dave Scholten was there to capture the action from both performances. Find his shots posted in the gallery below.

Twin Peaks, Together Pangea and Golden Daze at Webster Hall (December 9, 2016)

By Will Oliver, January 17th 2017 — with 2 comments

Chicago-based rockers Twin Peaks made major strides with their mature and alt-country influenced new album Down In Heaven (released via Grand Jury Music). With it came much bigger performances, including a performance at Webster Hall on December 9, marking their largest NYC performance to date.

The band had the floor literally shaking at Webster Hall, always a sign that a band is doing their job. The show also features some mighty good opening performances from both Together Pangea and Golden Daze.

Find photos of all three bands posted below, along with Twin Peaks’ setlist.

Preview: Twin Peaks at Webster Hall

(Twin Peaks at Bowery Ballroom)

Twin Peaks surprised me with their mature new album Down In Heaven which came earlier in the year via Grand Jury Music. It’s a very grown up next step for the band who took their sound into a new direction that makes me even more hopeful about their potential future than I already was.

They gave a wild performance at Bowery Ballroom earlier in the year near the albums release, and they’re back this Friday for their largest headlining show here yet at Webster Hall. together PANGEA and Golden Daze are opening things up.

Tickets for the show are currently still on sale, but I wouldn’t wait too long on them.

Twin Peaks at Bowery Ballroom (May 25, 2016)

By Will Oliver, September 11th 2016

Wild Chicago rockers Twin Peaks have grown up quite a bit, releasing the rather mature and refined new album Down In Heaven earlier in the year via Grand Jury Music. While that record may be a slightly calmer sound for the Chi-town boys, they still bring their wild stage antics to their live performances, giving us a wild show as usual this May 25 at their Bowery Ballroom show, the night after they played Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Preview: Twin Peaks In NYC Next Week

By Will Oliver, May 19th 2016

Twin Peaks

Chicago rock-outfit Twin Peaks have shown a great deal of maturity on their grown-up new album Down In Heaven, recently released via Grand Jury Music. They’ve honed in on their songwriting craft, proving them to be one of the most exciting bands making their way up the ranks of the current rock and roll scene.

Next week they bring their always energetic and wild live show to New York for a pair of shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg on May 24 and Bowery Ballroom‘ on May 25. It will be interesting to see how the more grown-up songs work their way into their typically crazy sets.

Tickets for both shows are currently on sale, but I wouldn’t wait too long on securing yours. They’re bound to sell out closer to the shows.

Twin Peaks at 4Knots Music Festival 2015

By Will Oliver, August 27th 2015

1_Twin Peaks_4Knots Music Festival 2015

One of the sets I was most looking forward to at 4Knots this year was from the exciting as all hell Chicago rockers Twin Peaks. It’s scary to think that these guys are really only getting started, as they’re one of my favorite up and coming rockers in the game at the moment.

Not only did Twin Peaks, who extended their lineup to a 5-piece, live up to my lofty expectations, but they somehow went beyond it. The group ripped through a set, sending all the youngsters in the front rows into a blissful shitshow. Twin Peaks made it look so easy, and so fun. The set was my favorite performance of the entire day, which is saying something considering that Stephen Malkmus and Super Furry Animals were still on deck. But when a show ends with the group going into the photo pit as they finish their last riff, it’s a pretty difficult thing to top.

Twin Peaks are currently recording their new album, which will be released soon enough via Fat Possum. They’ll return to New York soon enough for a supporting slot

On Wednesday night young Chicago-based rockers Twin Peaks played an impressive show at Mercury Lounge that proved that new generations can indeed keep rock and roll afloat. The performance came in support of their freshly released new record Wild Onion, a youthful explosion of rock and roll that you need to be spinning as soon as freaking possible.
