Philip Selway - Weatherhouse

Radiohead drummer Philip Selway will release his new solo album Weatherhouse on October 7 via Bella Union.

He’s shared the spaced out and dreamy “Coming Up For Air”, which serves as the album’s open track, as well as its first single. Here’s what Selway had to say about the song:

“It’s very much about taking stock of my life. I wanted to convey a sense of release and affirmation. This was the first song that we recorded. Immediately it felt in a very different space from Familial.

There are some Radiohead aspects to it, but there’s definitely a shift that is very much of his own.

[watch]: Radiohead’s Roseland Ballroom Performance In Full

By Will Oliver, November 28th 2012 — with 2 comments

On September 29, 2011, the night before my 21st birthday, Radiohead played a special show at Roseland Ballroom. It was one of the smaller shows that they will ever play at this point of their career, and I was lucky enough to snag some tickets.

The show was fantastically memorable, and one that I will never forget. I don’t have to, as a bunch of great dedicated Radiohead fans put together a video of the whole concert. They combined various fan shoot clips which was combined with actual audio from the show that Radiohead themselves gave to the fans to work with. That’s absolutely amazing, on every level.

This show was literally my last hours before I turned 21. I feel blessed that I can relive this show at such a high quality now. If you were there, you get to enjoy it again. If not, you get the next best thing.

Find the whole performance below.

“Full Stop” is a new Radiohead song that fans knew was coming. The band had been sound-checking it, and finally brought it out during a show in Chicago a few days ago. A fan has captured the footage for us, and it’s available to watch below. Too bad they didn’t premiere it at Bonnaroo, because it sounds euphoric and dreamy as hell.

Someone even covered the song already. The internet is an amazing thing.

Radiohead @ Bonnaroo (June 8, 2012)

By Will Oliver, June 13th 2012 — with 2 comments

Radiohead
came out and did their thing Friday night at Bonnaroo and gave us a performance of the ages. It was my first time witnessing the amazing stage and light show that Radiohead have created for this tour. What a sight it is. Crazy to think that it was 4 years ago that I saw Radiohead at my first ever music festival: All Points West.

Most of the night stayed true to The King Of Limbs, but the band went backwards to bring back classics like “There, There”, “Everything In Its Right Place “, “You and Whose Army”, “The Gloaming”. The biggest surprise was that the band treated us to “Karma Police”, a song that holds a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first Radiohead songs that I truly loved as a kid.

Thom was chattier than normal, and gave us a hint towards a possible future collaboration with Jack White, as he dedicated “Supercollider” to him and thanked him, telling us that he wouldn’t tell us why, but that we would soon find out.

“Paranoid Android” wrapped things up in it’s natural epic fashion, and it left me already waiting for my next chance to see Radiohead.

Radiohead Soundcheck New Song: Full Stop

By Will Oliver, June 6th 2012 — with 1 comment

According to those great Radiohead fans over at atease, Radiohead sound checked a new song before their show in Cincinnati yesterday. The song is apparently called “Full Stop”. A fan recorded the song being played from a distance. Don’t expect top tier sound quality. It will do for now. Hopefully they will debut it at Bonnaroo.

Listen to “Full Stop” below.
