Yeasayer made their live return last week at the Escape Music Festival, taking a break from the recording of their new album (#4) which we can only hope is coming out sooner than later in 2015.
It’s hard for me to admit that this was my first time seeing Yeasayer perform live, due to conflicts at school and many unfortunate circumstances. But I finally got to see the Brooklyn band, and they were every bit as magical as I expected, and then some.

Break Line is the passion project Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder. He’s been working on the project along with Maxwell Kardon since 2009, and now the time has finally come for the album to be released.
The project looks back to rock concept albums of the early 70′s, “following the classic arc of lost love, betrayal, and pride.” The album is described with the following description:
Inspired by this golden age of musical theatre and an old folk song taught in Quaker schools in the 50s, they created their own version of a classic story of betrayal, pride and lost love.
The album includes many collaborations, from fellow Yeasayer bandmates, to members of bands such as Vampire Weekend, Man Man, Dirty Projectors, Suckers, MGMT, and Dragons Of Zynth.
Break Line The Musical is the name of the album that they’re releasing, and will be released July 15 via Secretly Canadian. You can get a taste of the album with the lovely album cut “Wedding Day” which is available to stream below.

A few weeks ago Yeasayer let fans stream their new album Fragrant World for a limited time via a scavenger hunt. Now NPR is streaming the album properly. It comes out August 21 via Secretly Canadian.
Yeasayer are doing something different than you’re typical album stream. They’ve made things more interesting doing it with an internet scavenger hunt. They have worked with Yoshi Sodeoka to create visual videos of each song from their new album Fragrant World. The videos are hidden on youtube, and required clues that the band gave on twitter.
Here was the letter they released detailing the event:
Fans have done a good job, unlocking 9/10 of the songs. Only one remains. I’ll update with the links once they are all up. Remember, the links are only good until Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
Stream the songs below.

Yeasayer have released a video “vignette” for a new song titled “Longevity”. It’s also off their new album Fragrant World, which comes out on Secretly Canadian on August 21.
Trippy visuals go hand-in-hand with the song which offers Yeasayer’s sparse vocals over a slow burning electronic mood.
Watch the clip below and find a mp3 to download the song via the band.
