Brooklyn-based trio Bear In Heaven are currently on tour for new album Time Is Over One Day Old, which came out in August. We saw them play a record release show the day of release over at Rough Trade and they dazzled me all the way through.

They’re stopping back in New York tomorrow to play Bowery Ballroom, and then MHOW on Wednesday night. Tickets for both shows are still on sale, and come highly recommended

‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ NYC Concert Announced

By Will Oliver, August 20th 2013

Inside Llewyn Davis is a movie about a folk rock musician who tries to make it in New York during the 1960’s. It’s directed by The Coen Brothers, naturally making it one of my most anticipated films of the year.

With its connection to music, it’s only natural that a concert has been announced on September 29 at Town Hall in New York City. Put together by The Coen Brothers and T Bone Burnett, who produced the films soundtrack, it will features live performances by the films stars Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, and Carey Mulligan. Unfortunately, no Justin Timberlake. There will also be appearances and performances by the following musicians: Jack White, Conor Oberst, Joan Baez, Patti Smith, Colin Meloy (The Decemberists), Marcus Mumford, The Avett Brothers, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Lake Street Dive, Milk Carton Kids, Punch Brothers, Secret Sisters, Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, and Willie Watson.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 12 p.m. Find out more about the event over at Filmtastic.

Earlier this summer, Arctic Monkeys announced their U.S. tour without a NYC stop, an odd decision considering the love that we have for them here in the big apple. But that was fixed today, as they have added a show at Webster Hall on September 14. They also are stopping by Boston on the 17th.

Tickets are $45.85 and go on sale August 24 at 12:00 p.m. There will be a fan pre-sale that goes on sale Thursday at 12:00 p.m. To get the password for the fan presale, your best bet is to sign up for the Arctic Monkeys fan e-mail.

You can bet that I’ll be there. Now the question is, which of you will I see there?

Arctic Monkeys Announce New North American Tour Dates (No NYC)

By Will Oliver, June 25th 2013 — with 1 comment

Just yesterday Arctic Monkeys announced their new album AM. They followed that announcement today with some new North American tour dates.

The tour starts on September 15 in Toronto, and continues on until October 11 in Austin. Very baffling that there is no New York stop, which did break my heart. However, they are playing in Philadelphia, which is a train ride or 2 hour drive. So that’s an option. But don’t worry, I’m sure a New York show isn’t too far off either. Tickets go on sale Friday 28th/Saturday 29th June 2013.

Find the list of dates below, or just look above this post.
