Tomorrow is the big day. Arctic Monkeys headline MSG in their biggest American show to date. I asked you guys, their biggest fans, to share thoughts on the show, and what its significance means to you.

A few of you guys took the time to write something, which is easier said than done, so thanks to you guys that actually took the time to participate. I appreciate it.

Instead of compiling all them together, I’m going to release them one by one, so each person’s post gets their own individual spotlight. Find Erin Browne’s post below (and her on twitter).

Miley Arctic

So, Miley Cyrus has covered Arctic Monkeys’ “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” Not sure how I feel about this.

It’s somewhat bizzare to see someone like Miley Cyrus cover the band, but then again, I guess that means their music is spreading to higher paces than I even imagined, so good for them.

She performed the live cover during a live session for MTV Unplugged last week. To tell you the truth, it’s a lot better than I expected. Definitely odd, but it’s not half bad.

Take a listen below. Read the rest of this entry »

This Saturday Arctic Monkeys will play their biggest North American show to date with a sold out headlining performance at the legendary Madison Square Garden. To no surprise, this brings me a great deal of excitement, especially considering I’ll be there taking it all in.

Playing a sold out show at the worlds most famous arena is a big deal, especially considering how hard the band has worked to capture an audience in America. This show is the ultimate payoff for the band, and it has a lot of meaning for both the band and their fans alike. Read the rest of this entry »

Arctic Monkeys Do I Wanna Know Letterman

Last night David Letterman may have won late night tv for the rest of 2014. I don’t know if anyone else can out do the lineup he had last night: Louis C.K. and Arctic Monkeys. Hot damn.

Arctic Monkeys dropped in ahead of their sold out show at Madison freaking Square Garden on February 8 to play “Do I Wanna Know?” Nick is now sported a full on beard and Alex is still shaking those hips.

Watch it below (although the audio is a bit off):

Jagwar Ma wouldn’t have been high up on a list of bands that I’d expect to cover Arctic Monkeys. But then again, I suppose that’s the fun thing about covers.

During a visit to Australian radio station Triple J the Australian band covered “Why’d You Only Call When You’re High?” as a part of the station’s Like A Version segment. The cover is interesting, as they definitely give it their own spin. I don’t know if it completely works, but it’s a very noble effort.

Check it out below.

[new]: Arctic Monkeys – You’re So Dark

By Will Oliver, December 5th 2013 — with 6 comments

Arctic Monkeys One For The Road

Arctic Monkeys will release “One For The Road” (Nick’s favorite song off AM) as a proper 7″ single on December 10 via Domino.

It comes with the b-side “You’re So Dark”, which Blake of AMUS points out is now available to stream. It’s a sexy little number that heads further into the sultry rabbit hole that they headed into on AM.

They always continue to surprise me with how consistently great their b-sides are. “You’re So Dark” is another great addition to their massive collection of b-sides. Not many bands can do this. Theses guys are one of a kind.

Take a listen to “You’re So Dark” below. Read the rest of this entry »
